Earlier this month Darren & Mika were married at Holman Ranch in Carmel Valley, CA. A Nor Cal girl + a So Cal boy = TLA! They may be opposites in some ways but when it comes to values they are 2 peas in a pod. Surrounded by family and friends they celebrated their nuptials on a hilltop surrounded by oak trees and sunshine. Pretty amazing considering it was raining everywhere else.
My new favorite bouquet, a Glamelia. The petals from several roses were used to make this bouquet that resembles one large, open rose. A rhinestone and pearl brooch completes the vintage look.
The Reveal! Choosing to share a private moment before the big ceremony is always special. Not only does the couple get to see each other before the festivities begin, they also seem more relaxed when they walk down the aisle. This private courtyard was the perfect spot to share a first look.
I love this casual portrait!
Grady Harp assisted Lezlie Johnson of Grand Design to create the gorgeous details. I’ve worked with Lezlie a lot so when she told me she was teaming up with Grady, a set designer and antique aficionado to create something different, I knew the decor would be unique and lovely.
The entrance to the reception was graced with this lovely, man made tree. Succulents, white orchids, moss and bark were used to create a garden atmosphere.
I love this little pedestal Lezlie created for the bouquet on the sweetheart’s table.
Old crates and a high chair were used to create this family photo display.
A really cool DIY idea is to have guests bring deserts! Grady brought this wooden wagon which made a great display for the desert table.
Everyone’s new favorite drink, Sparlkling Nuvo! A French sparkling liqueur.
A night shot of the party in the barn.
A huge thank you to my second photographer Celeste Duran! Check out her amazing work on her website.
Also, thank you to D.J. Jonathon from DNA. It’s always a pleasure to work with you!
A very appreciative thank you to Grapes of Wrath Catering and the staff at Holman Ranch!
I am looking forward to my next wedding at Holman Ranch!
